Unhappy Dont understand all these changes!!

Well first of all, about me, Im 42, mother of 4, (only one daughter at home now age 12) I had Endometrio cancer two years ago, and had to have a complete hysterectomy, both ovaries removed along with lymth nodes. I have the horrible hot flashes, nite sweats, mood swings, good days, bad days, you name it. I can not take any estrogen due to my cancer. Is there any hope for me?? Some days I actually feel like Im going nuts.
There is more to this story, but too much to type. If you feel compelled to email me, we can talk more at that time. God bless you, and thanks for reading my post.

Dear Dazed,
Let me start off by saying that I can sympathize with your situation. I was glad to see that you haven't gotten a lot of well-meaning advice to your question. I was afraid that you may inadvertently start a suggested treatment without checking with your doctors. I am a nurse, and this is what I would do if I were you.
I'm sure you have been to more Drs than you would care to see, but I would suggest a homeopathic physician. You can check in your phone book or online for practicioners in your area. They are sensative to treating the whole person (holistic) and to herbal treatments that may not be used by your GYN MD. I would ask the homeopath to consult with my oncologist/GYN before making any suggestions for treatment.
I would not take herbs suggested to me over the internet or any other treatments for that matter, unless they are checked out by your oncologist and GYN and then only if the doctors really know how the treatment would react in your specific case.
Good luck. I hope it won't be long before you are feeling much better.

Dear Dazed, I finally got to the "official menopause" last Sept. at age 54, thought it was never going to happen. I've read several books from the library on menopause without medicine and I, personally, have decided to go the natural route. I was having the night sweats and sleeplessness. My family doctor and my chiropractor recommended Soy. They suggested the Caltrate+Soy, but I still take my other calcium and take the Soy Isoflavones. I can tell you that my sleeplessness stopped and I haven't had one single "hot flash" in months. Good luck.

Thank you ladies so much for your replies and encouraging words. I would really like to find a good DR in my area. The DR I have ben going to for several years, is basically just an MD> he really does not know how to treat my thyroid problems, nor these problems I have with the hot flashes etc. How and where does one start to locate a good female DR.
