Unhappy New to the board, need help

I am 44, was put on bcp 6 months ago to regulate my period. Worked fine until about 2 weeks ago. Started having severe pms like symptoms, anxiety, depression, crying jags. Went to see my MD, he thinks hormone imbalance, ordered a number of lab tests and put me on the mini pill. I had a really bad period, heavy bleeding and huge clots. The period is over and I STILL am anxious etc etc. Anyone else have these problems? Am I crazy along with menopausal?

Anytime you start fooling around with your hormones stuff like you describe can happen until you get them regulated to what your body needs. Get your thyroid checked also. It can be the cause of menstrual problems also. Check out Mary Shoman's thyroid site on about.com. Lots of info there on menopause, thyroid and hormones. Good luck.
