Question Is it menopause?

I'm 43 years old and in the last six months I have experienced irregular cycles which I initially attributed to stress related to my husband's death 15 months ago, teenage daughter, etc. Within the last 2 months I have started dating again, have become sexually active again and am still having he same symptoms. In addition to irregular cycles I am having night sweats and more frequent migraines. Is this all related to menopause? I also am on Zoloft for depression, which I am being weaned off of. Can anybody help?

You're probably having peri menopause. You're starting to have the symptoms before you go through it completely. I've been having it for the last 3 or 4 years. Cycles irregular, hot flashes.

I started getting head aches a lot the last couple of year but I think it was because I developed high blood pressure. I think it's due to menopause. A lot of things have been bothering me more lately that never bothered me before. I'm being treated for high blood pressure now and the head aches have disapeared.

Your thyroid can go wonky from high periods of stress. Stress overworks the adrenals which in turn put pressure on your thyroid, which in turn can screw up your other hormones, resulting in screwy periods. Have your thyroid checked. Depression is a common symptom of thyroid problems. Lots of thyroid and menopause info on Mary Shomans thyroid site on about.com. Good luck.

Certainly sounds like symptoms of perimenopausal. Stress can be reason to bring it on sooner. You should consider a full check with a gynae to see where you stand regarding this. Going onto some HRT may make you feel so much better. Worth getting it checked.
