Question Which meds don't cause weight gain???

I have major issues with weight and can't deal with any gains. I've been taking Paxil CR for anxiety for a month and noticed weight gain so I stopped it. Are there any that are known to definitely not cause weight gain? Do I have to go with something other than SSRI's? Which are the best that aren't SSRI's?

Nothing is 100 percent guaranteed. Wellbutrin supposedly is less likely to cause weight gain than the SSRIs.

i'm takin zyprexa and depakote both for anxiety which have side effects but cause weight gain.
maybe take a multi vitamin to alleviate side effects is what my doctor said.
i take theragram-m.
paxil made me feel bloated but klonopin has weight gain as a side effect, and ask your doctor about others like buspar; i think that just has congestivitis side effects.
how about ativan or others?

I wondered if Prozac puts weight on too?

I take 40 mg a day and also think I'm pregnant. Would anyone know if this is harmful? I have only been taking it for 5 weeks.

Thanks

To answer the first question regarding weight gain. I was on depakote and zyprexa at the same time (also serzone) and I gained about 20 pounds. But I think it was the depression in addition to the meds. I was depressed, so I ate, then I gained weight and got more depressed, so I ate more. I changed serzone to remeron and stopped the zyprexa and I've lost 12 pounds so far, so I know I'm feeling better.

My experience as far as the prozac and pregnancy is concerned is I was on 40 mg. prozac when I decided to have my third child and stopped taking the prozac, on my own and was pretty depressed during the pregnancy, at around 7 months pregnant, my doctor let me go back on a low dose, 10 mg. and then increased it to 20 mg. after the baby was born (because I was breast-feeding). My daughter is fine. I would try to get through the pregnancy without meds if you can, but if it is too difficult for you, try lowering the dose for the health of your child.

Good luck to you both
