Who has recieved this treatment? Who thinks this is barbaric?

my dr suggested it for me but i just said to him


'if you think i am letting YOU loose with electricity and MY head you are very much mistaken mr'

and that was the end of that really,but it still makes me laugh.

sorry, in answer to your question i used to think it was inhumaine (sp) but i have seen it work for some people so i guess it just depends on the person

Thank you for your opinion.The reason I asked this question is because my mom is going through ECT and its making her delutional so I wanted to talk to peoplewho have gone through the treatment or know of someone. he doctors are useless when it comes to informing the family

I had eight ect treatments and at the time it worked, but now I can't tell any difference...I had a lot of memory loss, like forgetting how to drive for a while, but worse is I forgot many important occasions in my life....Karla
