Post anyone else on effexor

I've been on effexor for about 7 months so i know all about the horrible withdrawl effects (missing one to many days). I also do get strange vivid dreams and nightsweats every now and then. aside from that ,effexor is working nicely for my mdd, but i was wondering if anyone had noticed if they are more violent while on the pill. i think i'm more agitated and agressive then i use to be. anyone notice anything strange? i did some research but all i could find was the withdrawl effects, nightsweats and dreams. so maybe it's just me. i have talked to my doctor about it

Hi Seldon,

I had a female friend living with me who was taking Efexor 225mg and she definitely became more aggressive, irritable and her libido increased but compared to the depression she had Efexor was a great success.....

Regards

Zafu

As we speak, I am in the midst of withdrawal.
If I had known how addictive this was I would have opted out.
The drug manufacturers aren't always honest in their studies and will down play their research when it comes to negative side effects.
I am a pharmacy technician and I can tell you first hand some of these people who alter research documentation and such should be drawn and quartered.
I look to the U.K. first anymore on their documentation of drugs. American drug companies have a lot to lose so their documentation is cloudy.

Ive only been on effexor for three months, and because of various hypersensitivity issues have only gotten up to 75 mg, but i have noticed a DRASTIC surge in irritability, anger, agression, and hostility since i passed the 50 mg mark. I think its seriously effecting me. BUT, it IS definitely relieving the OCD, so i can live with some agression with no channel.

thank you for replying. i do agree that the drug companies in the US do cloud up their reasearch. Still my family doctor told me that paxil was very addictive and recommended prozac. alas when i finally got a psychiatrist and move to effexor she told me nothing of the withdrawls and such. i suppose me and my parents should have done research before hand. i would have tried less addictive drugs before finally going to this one

My doc started me out on 150 and I'm finally at 300 which seems to work well.

i think i'll do the same and just stick to the added agression since it has helped me alot with my depression. unless it gets bothersome of course.
