Hi Leathan:

Yes, I think it is. Here is how I was diagnosed:

After first being diagnosed with the symptoms of speech, numbness, hand tremors, weakness, balance, hand-eye coordination, etc., I was to go to the hospital for IV steroid treatment three weeks later. Gradually within that three week period my symptoms went away, except for the weakness and slight speech and hand-writing problems. Even though my symptoms relapsed on their own, I still took the steroid treatments. I was amazed how they all went away after that.

So, I would say "Yes" that you could have good reflexes and good balance, but still show lesions on your MRI. Maybe you have Relapsing-Remitting MS(what I have), and your symptoms come and go.

What made you get an MRI, what were your symptoms?

I hope I helped you at least a little. Let me know.

Leathan:

Get the MRI done! Your symptoms are so consistant with MS that it would be amazing to find that it is something else! Not to fear, though. There are some terriffic medicines that should help you feel a lot better. Fatigue - I had that for four months straight last summer, and I can relate. I know of a lady that takes Ryladin(sp?) for her fatigue. Other than that, I take a weekly injection to help keep my symptoms "at bay". My main concern is depression - keep your spirits up! Please keep me posted on how you are doing and what you find out. My address is andreamc@cros.net. Sometimes, I don't get a chance to visit this board to check the replies.

They say MS "comes out" when you have a significant life change, tragedy, accident (physical or emotional). Has anything dramatic happened to you? I was diagnosed shortly after giving birth to my son(a difficult pregnancy), as was a friend of mine. Another friend was diagnosed after a fall of the roof of a house, etc.

Hope to hear from you soon.
