Post I am scared....Does this sound like MS ?

Hi I am a 35 yr old male who has felt a noticable numbness on my right side of the body. It started last August with numbness/wekness in legs and arms, particularly in hands and feet. It went away for a bit but returned with the same symptoms plus recently urination problems, numbness in right face and right tongue. A CT scan revealed nothing and a MRI is four months away (this is Canada)I am scared and worried it could be MS. I can handle this as long as it isn't the most severe forms. Anybody have similar symptoms ? Anybody with comments or help...I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hello,I was reading the board and seen your questions.
I know when I didn't know what was wrong with me, it scared me to death.Everything in the world goes through your mind. And you don't know what to do. Well your not alone. There's alot of us out there, and plenty of us to talk to.
My symptoms sound somewhat the same as yours. My right side gives me most of my problems. In fact these past two weeks everything has been going haywire.I have alot numbness in my legs from my hips down, but I also have alot of pain and burning to.As for my kidneys I've had alot of problems with them to.It seems to be something different happening all the time.
But they have got medications out there to slow the process down.Hopefully if this is what they find you have, You'll be able to take the medication and it will work for you.I found faith in God helps alot. I hope this helps you out some.Let us know about your tests.

I am certainly not a Doctor but your symptons sounds similar to mine when I had an attack. That was in March of 1992 and I have not had any noticeable problem since then. I also had a CT and MRIs with the MRI showing a leasion. But it took a spinal tape to confirm it. I see my neurologist once and year and nothing new has happened since my first attack. My neurologists tells me I have had another attack because of new leasions shown on my MRIs.

So yes your symptons do sound like MS but they also could be other things.

Good luck and God Bless.

Hi!

I am also from Canada, and on the endless MRI waiting list, to try to confirm MS. Your symptoms are not too similar to mine, but sertainly do sound like ms. It's a drag I know! I recently had an attack that lasted 2 months and it's been very difficult. I run a very busy real estate company and it kind threw a loop in to my routine. Am feeling better now, but am anxious to know for sure. The only certain thing about MS is it's uncertainty, so I guess we better get use to it. Hope you have good luck. God bless.
