I just went to my neuro last week and had an emg and basic neuro exam. I've been to a neuro two years prior and passed a basic neuro exam. I passed this exam fine and my emg was normal. I also had a lyme blood test which was normal. My first question is does an emg have anything to do with helping to rule out MS or is it mainly to rule out other diseases. My most common symptoms are tingling in fingers, mainly left hand, sometimes muscle twitching during the day, and tingling in legs once in awhile. These symptoms are sporadic throughout the week. Tingling is the most prevelant symtpom in my left hand. No ON, weakness, numbness has been observed. Both my visits to neuro's ended up in benign fasciculation syndrome dx's. Both neuro's thought MS was unlikely. Any comments & advice from people here would be appreciated.
