I have found the two worst things for me are stress and heat. My worst ever flare came after my Moms sudden death. BIG stress !!!Some stress cannot be avoided though :-(

There are three things that influence MS attacks - heat, stress and tiredness.

The bodies of people with MS are consantly coping with controlling the damage done by the disease. All of the above factors reduce the effectiveness of the bodys responses and allow MS to "win".

I never understood why heat was such a factor. At my last checkup my doctor expained that MS constantly harms the nerve pathways and our body is always building new nerve passages to route around damaged areas - this is tiring. When the body is exposed to hot weather it's less effective building the new routes and the MS damages faster than the body can make repairs. Consequently we have flareups until the body gains the upper hand again.

I even had a flare up because I got excited with good news once.

Take care.
