Exclamation Wellbutrin and Anxiety Disorder?

Hello Everyone!

I went to the doctor today for a follow up. I was on Prozac for six days and it caused me to have really bad anxiety, so i stopped taking it. the doctor suggested Wellbutrin, since it had such a low risk of side effects, and she assured me i "probably" wouldnt have any problems with anxiety, but quite the opposite.
has anyone else tried this? i am so nervous to take it because of the implications of the prozac...

I would definately try to take the wellbutrin.
ALthough it did not help me, I have heard good things about it, whereas I have heard less good things about prozac.

The wellbutrin was prescribed to me to stop smoking.

I still smoke.

hm..2 years ago i got anxiety and panic disorder..
doctor gave me - 75mg Effexor with directions to take it once a day..
it was nice for a lil while but i developed an irregular heartbeat..
next..
doctor gave me - 50mg Zoloft with directions to take it once a day..
it was awful.. everytime the drug wore out at night my panic attacks would get intensified.. i just couldn't handle the drug leaving my system..
next..
doctor gave me - 12.5mg Paxil controlled release pills with directions to take one in the morning and one 11 to 12 hours later or b4 i went to bed..
and i must say that it worked better than anything.. i don't have to take high doses of the drug, and i keep it in my system thanks to the controlled release pills..
i'd reccomend that to anyone to try..
okay i'm done rambling.. anyways i've only heard good things about Wellbutrin from doctors and users.. and side fx seem close to nil'.. i'm sure you'll have alot better results with it than the Prozac.. Prozac isn't a very researched drug i've heard..
good luck Raina..

Question

Raina, If you're having problems with anxiety, Paxil would be a better choice than the welbutrin. Welbutrin is one of the more stimulating AD's. But I'm sure you're doctor knows more about you than I do, so good luck and write back. See ya, buck.

well, i have decided to not try it... yet. i just started college and i dont want to risk a bad experience when its so close to mid-term.
as for the Paxil- all the people i have known on it had terrible experiences when taking it for anxiety- i dont want to try it.
thanks for all the replies- i really appreciate all you helpful "strangers."
