Post neuropathy

hi all! my sister has been diagnosed with neuropathy as well as cardiomyopathy, emphysema and kidney problems. she is coming to CA to live with me(from FL). her docs there can't help her-she has alot of pain and sometimes numbness in her hands and feetalong with swelling due to water retention. they gave her neurotin and darvocet for pain which does nothing. anyone have this problem and what are you taking for it? no, she's not diabetic.i'm hoping that i can find her a good doc to help to control her pain, etc. thanks for all your help!

Do they know what caused all these things?
Some of the symptoms you mentioned - neuropathy, kidney problems, numbness in limbs and heart problems has been associated with long term low level mercury toxicity - from amalgams in teeth. There is no hard proved link between amalgam and these things - just that studies so far point indicate that they are quite possible.

Things sound very desperate for your sister and the only thing to do is remove possible antagonists from the body (ie amalgam fillings). It may be worth researching.

One place to get started (there is much information on the net) is http://www.bcd.com.au/AmalgamScientificFacts.htm

Hi Shooshoo- don't know if this will help, but my Dad had neuropathy and it was severe for 2+ years. He was not diabetic. He had many tests during this time. During this time the only thing that seemed to help was Elavil, hot soaks in the tub, lots of rubdowns and changing positions frequently. He used mineral ice and got some relief as well. His neurologist said the disease would have to run it's course!! It finally started to disappear, slowly, after 2 years. Then one year later he developed type 2 diabetes.. So he first got neuropathy, then developed diabetes. The only thing they can figure out is he was in contact with chemicals, he too lives in Fl., and did a lot of spraying in the yard for bugs, etc. Thank God it has not recurred, but it is a long process... Since it hurts so much and lasts so long, I would suggest taking her to a teaching hospital.. They would be up on the latest treatments... Good luck. Kay
