Post Myopathy??? Help

Being new to this board I'm not sure I am in the right place or not, but I'm looking for some help.

First of all, I'm a diabetic, type 2 and I take meds for it. I have all the normal Neuropathy symptons, such as legs tingling and numbness. But I have another big problem. My calves and shins experience a tremendous amount of pain when I try any exercise at all. A short 50 foot walk puts me in so much pain I have to stop. Its much worse when I carry anything such as my brief case. I lost 35 lbs a while back and it seems to be mostly muscle.

I have heard of something called Mitochondrial Myopathy and I have looked for info on the net, but haven't been able to find anything on this.

Can anyone out there help?
