I have had problems with my lower back since the age of 12. Started in my left leg. By the time I was 16, I would get out of breath, my legs and back would tighten up so bad I had to stop and rest walking up stairs or any incline. At age 43, I had a posterior/anterior spinal fusion (L4-L5 with BAC cages and screws) to take care of the pain from spondylolisthesis, and a congenital deformity. (That being L5 fused to the sacrum on the right side.) The pain got worse after surgery and I had to stop working. A year & 1/2 ago, my Dr. was getting pretty pissed at me because he could not make sence of my new and ever improving symptoms of pain. So he ordered a thorasic MRI. He said it was rare, but some times you can have something in that area that may be causing my symptoms. Well, It turned out,I have an inoperable, intracord lipoma. Boy, was the Dr shocked. So now I sit and wonder what will happen to me as the tumor in my spinal cord grows. More pain as it grows or will I wake up one day with no feeling in part of my leg or better still will the bed be wet? LOL!
