Hi Jamie,

I also have a really tough time driving, but for me, it's because I have a history of panic attacks, which started happening in the car. I am working on this issue, but it's a slow process for me!

What is it about the thought of driving that you find upsetting or scary? Sometimes a good place to start with an intense fear is breaking down the reasons you're fearful.

Jamie, I can relate to you.

I am 20, and have never driven a car and doubt I ever will. I pulled a car out of a garage once and was so rittled with fear, that I couldn't pay attention to what I was doing. And, of course, that wasn't even on an open road.

I see people zipping through traffic, going twice the speed limit, on congested city streets, and wonder "how the hell do they do that?"

For me, it's not that I am afraid for my own safety. I am scared of killing or hurting somebody, or -- at the very least -- damaging someone's property. With my poor attention span, which is about as bad as a drunk driver who is above the legal limit, the chances are very good that I would get in an accident, everytime I get behind the wheel.

Not having the ability to drive or get around is killing me because I live in the boonies, but it's something I have to live with.
