Question Help with fear of spiders?

I have an awful fear of spiders. Does anyone know of any helpful websites or any tips on how to overcome this fear? Does anyone have this fear themselves? How do you deal with it?

BEING A PHOBIC MYSLEF..NOT SPIDERS..I CAN SYMPATHIZE..I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY A DR THE MOST COMMON WAY OF DEALING WITH A PHOBIA IS AVOIDANCE...NICE..BUT NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE..DESENSITIZATION IS ANOTHER WAY OF TRYING TO GET OVER IT...BUT ITS A ROUGH GO BECAUSE IT MEANS EXPOSURE TO THE THING THAT YOU FEAR..GOOD LUCK

I am EXTREMELY arachnophobic. Spiders scare me to death! We just moved into a townhouse in February and I saw two spiders. I hired TERMINIX to come in and spray, then I had him come back ten days later when I saw another spider. He sprays every month and that really helps keep the spiders away. Unfortunately you can't control them from occasionally coming in from outside. I feel your pain, I have an anxiety attack whenever I see one.

I don't know if I had a phobia but I was always extremely afraid of spiders, just totally grossed out by them, especially bigger ones. A few months ago I took a job where I come into contact with spiders on a daily basis, mostly small ones but a few big ugly ones, and one day I realized that they don't bother me that much any more. So I guess being gradually exposed to the object of your fear can help some people.
