Post new to everything

Hello everyone, I have looked over some of the posts, and have many questions. My boyfriend, whom I love very much, is 22 and has ADD. He was diagnosed his fresman year of high school, though I'm not sure how well the diagnosis was. I do not undersatnd much of it, and there a lot of questions that i have, too many. I would like to know where I could get information on this topic, and would like to know if anyone wants to take the time to answer the many questions that I have.

Thank you, br1nd1lle

I can probably answer your questions. I was diagnosed when I was eight years old. I've had ADD for twelve years. So I'm here if you have questions. Alazay

Thanks Alazay, I'm not really sure where to start. Mostly, I think I would like to know how I can help. His lack of focus can make things hard, especially in a relationship, and he often says that I wouldn't understand. Other than his initial diagnosis, I do not believe that he has recieved any other treatment. He has not thought of getting help, as he just says it would cost too much. Where should be go to recieve help? Is it covered under most insurance policies? There is soo much more I culd ask, but I'll leave them for later. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

He definatley needs to be on some sort of medication. I can NOT focus at all without my medication. I have tried several, and nothing would ever work right. I take 20mg's of adderall now, and that is the only thing that has really helped me. I have been on it for two years. And yes, if he is diagnosed with ADD, his insurance should cover it. Tell him to ask his doctor about it. They might want to start him on something else, but Adderall is a life saver to me. I know how your boyfriend must feel. And he's right, unless you have ADD, you really don't understand.
