Need help in San Jose, CA!

My name is Ryan and I'm 35 yrs. old and recently diagnosed with ADHD. The diagnosis was one of the most profound experiences of my life, becoming aware of all of the symptoms of ADHD which have created so many problems in my life since childhood. Finding a psychiatrist who, 1.treats adult adhd'ers and 2. accepting new people, seems almost impossible. I am currently seeing a psychiatrist who would accept me as a new patient although I feel like I know more about ADHD than he does. I would really like to find a psychiatrist in the Los Gatos/San Jose, CA area who is knowledgeable with adult treatment. I would really appreciate the name of a Dr. or other any information you think might be helpful.

I dont know of any doctors in San Jose, but I do know of an excellent clinic in Fairfield, Ca. It's not to far from where you live. I highly recommend The Amen Clinic for Behavioral Medicine. The number is (707)429-7181. All the doctors are very good. I am currently seeing Dr.Goldman. Dr.Amen has been on the Oprah Winfry show, written numerous books and turned my life around. The doctors take your opinion in to consideration when making decisions concerning medication. I think you would be very happy with them. Kari
