Post 26 and just been put on fosamax 70mg

Hi, My name is Amy and today my doctor put me on fosamax 70mg. I read about the side affects and it is really scary to start taking this. I have been having pains shoot through my spine for three days straight and it is driving me crazy. I was told that my spine is in the condition of a 70 year old and ive lost 42% of my pelvic bone. I was taking vioxx for rhuematoid arthritis and my doc said to stop taking it because that could be causing alot of my stomach pain. I have really bad attacks below my breast bone and under my belly button. I've had my gullbladder out already!when i have those attacks it is like someone is just using my spine like a dartboard. But now I'm scared this will cause me stomach pain to, so does anyone have any suggestions or helpful hints about taking this? email me at a82faith@webtv.net thanks everyone

I go to stlouis twice a month to see my doctors. They have really good doctors there. My husband had to call the ambulance yesterday because I was having really bad abdominal pains and pains in my back. It even hurt to breath. They did blood work and took my urine and gave me a shot. well after 30 minutes i was still screaming so they did a ct scan ad they said nothing showed up so they just sent me home still hurting!! I can't stand these doctors here. Then at one i had to be there for a bone scan well i started hurting in the waiting room so the nurse grabbed a wheelchair and took me back to the e.r. and the nurse really snotty said we already seen her. I just said lets do the bone scan and i want to go home. I was in so much pain. Instead of keeping me to see what was wrong they just sent me home. I told mom if anything happen to me and i die because of their neglagence to sue them for all they have. One time I got accused of being on drugs by a doctor in the e.r. I hate the hospitals here. amy

hi amy,
i am also 26 with severe osteo.
i was dx about 2 years ago. had a hyst. 5 yrs. ago.
i also have the bad stomach pain which i think is caused from too many adhesions after gyno surgeries.
i have problems with my back too. i can't stand for very long until i am hurting.
anyway, i am new here and this is my first post but i wanted to let you know you are not alone.
you are a lot like me and countless others. let me know if you need any input from someone in the same boat.

Hey, I noticed you were from malvern ar and i was wondering if you knew a guy named chris langley? I know it is a small town. I found out that the pain in my stomach was from severe pancreatitis. I was bleeding internally so they had to give me more blood. I am now on a nose spray called Miacalcin for my osteoporosis. i hope your doing well. amy

Amy, my husband is on Foxomax and takes the Miacalcin nasal spray, too. He's never experienced any side effects from either drug.
