Question T scores

Dr has just informed me that I have osteoperosis after a bone density test. They said that my T score was -2.8. What does this mean and where could I find out more about what the T scores indicate.

A score higher than 2.5 is considered osteoporosis.

Angry

Hello,

I am knew to the board also, I just would like to say I am 42 years old, and I had surgery in 1979 on C5,6, which showed osteoarthritus way back then. I have always been a worker a hard worker too, ofcourse I have been a chronic pain patient also, but I never thought this would happen to me. I was working at a Bartender , waiteress job(manager in training) and I fell flat on my back on a wet hard tiled floor, w/concrete under the hard tile, The hard was hard BAMM, flat on my back it tore both of my shoulders really bad, L/shoulders it tore the 2 main muscles that make up the rotor cuff, and it concaved my spinal cord as well as C3,4,5,6,7protruded w/impingment on the cord as well. My doctor said surgery on both shoulders, neck, and back rods, pins the whole nine yards. Ofcourse the fall crippled me, I can barely walk, no work, none, it is a nightmare, I was always so careful, because you do not want to fall w/this in your spinal cord, I just never figured I would have to go to a IME that would say all of it is pre-exsisting and I can still work ANY occupation ANY,f.time,no restrictions, also I will be needing no no surgeries nor any medical help, which basically has left me poor, crippled, and no way to do anything about it but pray to GOD!!! I beg you if you discover you have a degenerative spinal cord disease or anything like this make sure if you ever ever get hurt on the job, and you have to go to a IME, make sure that the independent medical examiner is baord certified and do some background checks on him, before you go, believ me, it is worth it. I have gotten nothing from W.comp notta,no surgeries, no medicnes, no checks, no nothing since 10-00, and i PROBALLY WILL GET NOTHING, that the waay it is, very very sad. I also was and still am a workacholic, but when you can barely walk, both shoulders are ripped, C3,4,5,6,7protruded impingment on the cord, and my spinal cord has concaved,so I am not much of anything anymore, I can't even go to a mall, I can't walk that far!!! The laws do not stand up for us, we need to do something, because we get nothing, I do not even have enough money to buy a wheelchair, or a good backbrace to atleast help my spinal cord from caving in more and more!! godbless us all debby1234!!
