Broken bones not mending

Hi
My aunt, who is in her late 60's and who also has osteoporosis, has had a nasty fall, breaking an arm and a leg. She has been in casts for months and the bones are not mending. As you can imagine this is fairly debilitating. Can anyone suggest any treatments that may facilitate healing?
