Del, I've been taking Evista for a little over a year. I've had no side effects from it. You can't compare it with Fosamax because they are completely different drugs. Fosamax is a biphosphonate. Evista is a SERM (Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator) which acts like estrogen to slow bone loss. The most common side effect is hot flashes. I had a few in the beginning, but only occasionally for a couple of months.
