Post ostioperosis

My mother was diagnosed with severe ostioperosis after having an x-ray done. She had an x-ray taken 7 weeks earlier with no sign of ostioperosis, is it possible for severe ostioperosis to show up after only 7 weeks?

im not sure of the answer to that question..however i do know that a bone density scan is the way to find out if someone has osteopenia or osteoperosis..so if she has not had that done it might be something she should do....

I'm not sure either. Altho I have had several xrays prior to my bone scan a couple years ago the xrays never picked up on my osteoporosis. Ask your Dr for a bone density test.
