Post Vitamin D and Sunlight

How much sunlight exposure each day? Can I get enough by exposing a bare arm next to a car window for about 20 minutes a day? (Not real tinted as far as the car window.) I'm not one who likes to be out in the sun.

Well, I was told and I have read that just 15 minutes a day of sun exposure to get all the vit d you need. Don't quote me but that is what my osteo doc said and I did read it in a health magazine.

Sounds very reasonable. I'm sort of concerned that the exposure is through a window and not direct sunlight. I'm not sure if the window filters out all the benefits.

Nancy: I posted to you earlier but it got hung-up somewhere. I am concerned that all of my daily exposure is through a car window. I wonder if I am getting full benefits through a slightly tinted window. I have also heard that about 15 to 20 minutes a day is sufficient exposure on the size of about a half dollar on the skin.
