Hello bjg: I was wondering if Fosamax might cause hair loss too. Are you still experiencing it on Evista? I am on Fosamax and don't like it much.

yes i am ...i started the evista in may and the hair loss started 2 weeks ago..so who knows whats up..i called lily the maker of evista..they have no reports of hair loss during the clinical trials...i went to my internist..since its not a known side effect of evista and my last thyroid test was normal she said the hair loss is probably temporary..so we will see..fortunately i have very thick hair..but it still makes me nervous..i was never one to have hairs in my brush after using it...i couldnt tolerate fosamax at all ..it gave me urinary problems...i hope you do better with it....good luck

With Fosamax I've noticed some urinary burning. Is this what you are referring to? If you don't mind my asking, did it progress into something serious?

i didnt notice burning..but after i was on it a short time i had a problem with frequent urination..the continual feeling of having to go ..and leaking urine..i called the drug co merck at 800-672-6372 to see if they had any other similar reports during clinical trials or since its been on the market ..they said no..but when i stopped it my problem stopped..i tried actonel and had the same thing start so i stopped that too....if you relate your burning the the drug pls call merck and let them know..they cant work to fix something unless they know whats wrong...
