I too have terrible back pain when standing or sitting, but I am only in the osteopenia stage (1.9 spine and 1.3 hip) What are your dexa results? Do you have osteoperosis or just osteopenia? I was wondering if anyone else had spine pain to. All the articles that I read say that there is no pain unless there are fractures, but I don't have any fractures, yet I still have pain.

I just saw a specialist and she mentioned I might have osteoporosis, osteomyelitis and a few more I don't remember. I also have severe back pain. Originally it was only my left hip area but now its all of my lower back, my mid back, fingers and hands and now my shins. The specialist seems to think it is all related to my hip. I'm waiting to have a bone density and a bone scan done. I also thought osteoporosis didn't cause pain but I guess thats not always true. Good luck to you guys.
