Post PTSD in a 10yr old

My 10yr old has been in and out of the hospital for depression and an eating disorder. We did not know the cause of her sudden problems until recently. A few days ago she admitted to being repeatedly molested by a friends father. After her outcry she attempted suicide. She was taken by ambulance to a psychiatric hospital for a week. She has been diagnosed with PTSD.She is now home, but everyday she has these episodes where she just goes beserk. And she doesn't remember what she says or does. She has been in therapy but not since this diagnose. How long will these episodes go on. I hate to have to keep drugging her up.

Unhappy

(((((((((((((For you and your daughter)))))))))))))))

You say she does not remember when she "goes bezerk"? How long has the molestation been going on?

I am asking these questions because I have MPD/DID used to be known as Multiple Personality Disorder. There are times that I don't remember when things happen and that is because someone else (an alter) is out doing the action. There is an amnesic barrier between that part and myself. If you don't understand and want me to explain further, I will. I'm not saying your daughter is MPD, just saying that it happens to me. I was dxed with MPD in 92 after a work event left me traumatized and alters started coming out at unoppurtune times.

I am sorry that this has happened to your daughter as well as your whole family because it does affect everyone.

I hope the friends father is being punished for the abuse he has done.

Thnks for ypur reply
My daughters therapist says this isn't unusual with the severe trama my daughter has experienced. It is her minds way of handling it. The man was arrested, but is out on bail. Hopefully he will be rearrested on the charges his soon to be ex wife has filed.good luck
