Question nightmares after 28 years?

Hi all! I almost drowned when I was 4, & I've been the family fish ever since...I LOVE to swim. But after 28 years I still have nightmares that I'm drowning, & somehow I get them more often when I'm on antidepressants. Now I'm on effexor for other issues & having these nightmares a lot...is there anything I can do about it?

Did you just start effexor? Effexor gave me wicked graphic nightmares for about 3 months. After that it stopped. I am not sure if it is because my body finally got used to the effexor of if the therapy helped. Have you considered therapy for this? You might want to give it a try. It has helped me so much.
