Any of those drugs might be used to treat ADD. What works for one person may not work for another person. If your doctor prescribes one medication and it doesn't seem to be helping with your ADD then you need to let the doctor know so they can try something else. The only way a doctor know if medication is working or not is by what you tell them.

All those medications can be used for both. I personally think adderall is the best.

Well we tried just about everything and nothing worked until I switched pediatricians. I took my 4yr. old son who has been diagnosed with ADHD by a psychologist and a psychiatrist. His last Dr. really never did anything for him. Everything he prescribed made it worse. So I took him to a pediatrician who specializes in this. He's an expert with kids who have this. He told me to still continue the concerta 36ml. from last Dr. along with clonidine. He started off taking one ml. of clonidine before bedtime for one week, then second week clonidine in the morning with the concerta and at bedtime too. This is really working!! What a big difference this makes. My husband and I can actually take him places now and he behaves himself. We always had to hire a sitter before. I'm so proud of him. I've also heard that Dr's are experimenting with other new drugs as well. We'll just have to wait and see. But for now, concerta works great with clonidine. The two drugs balance each other out and no side effects either!!!
Wonderful!!
