Exclamation Its time to accept your children !

I cant believe this, some parents are okay putting their children on Ritalin. It seems like some parents cant accept their children for who they are, just rather putting them on the drugs. Parents shouldnt be worrying about what the society says about the children or how they act, its who they are, so the parents should just accept them, and stop letting the doctors putting them on drugs. Drugs that been shown to cause brain/nervous system damage, liver cancer, and so on.

There are natural remedies out there, to calm your children, rather puting them on those dangerous chemicals. Kava Kava, its a relaxant, helps to ease anxiety, and calms the person down. Also Reserchers found on Magnesium that it showed that kids with ADHD who were given 200MG Magnesium showed after 6 months decreased hyperactivity...

So look around and see all those natural remedies that could help your children, and I know some natural remedies are not always safe, but they are way safer than Ritalin, or any other drugs. So please think about the future consequences your children might face when they take this toxic, dangerous drugs. You should turn to mother nature first, if that doesnt help, try something else, but medications should be the last thing to try !!!

I wish the best for your children, and for the parents !

Unfortunately, there are dangers to the liver if you take Kava Kava for any extended time, so that should not be an option for any child. My son uses Adderall during the school year, but not the summer months. This summer I am trying my darndest to find a natural supplement that works for my son, but so far nothing is working. For those who choose to medicate - we have to respect their decision to do so. Some children just can not cope otherwise. Would you rather a child be medicated and accepted by his family and peers or not medicated and yelled at all day by teachers, family and friends - that, in my opinion, does more harm to a child than any medication. A child's self-esteem is extremely important. Some children can not cope without medication and I certainly will not condemn parents for giving their child something that works for them.

Lil'V, my son had ADD but not the hyper type. He has inatentive ADD. The ONLY thing that helps him is Adderall. He does not need to be calm. He is already too calm. I don't want him on drugs and I was in denial for a long time. But.....I want him to get the most out of life and if he is having a hard time in school and one little pill helps him focus on the teacher and his schoolwork then I see no problem. If there was anything he could take other than the drugs, believe me I would try it. He is already taking Omega-3 fish oil, but I haven't seen any change. What would you suggest for people who are inatentive ADD?

Connor, how long has your little guy been taking the fish-oil supplements? I started my son on them just last week. Just curious as to how long it may take before we see any results - if it indeed will help at all? Like you, I'm trying everything I can to get my child off of medication. It is a huge challenge living with an ADHD child.

Hi Charmed. He started about 2 weeks ago and I really haven't seen any change, but I am going to keep him on them because I know they are are good for him. I am thinking that there is something else other than ADD that is going on. Maybe Autism. I am so confused on which doctor to take him to. I don't want the doctor runaround and have put it off. He is just so spacey, has no friends, and is incredibly shy. It's so hard.
