HPV and pregnancy....

I was diagnosed with HPV about 7 years ago.I had to have laser surgery 2 times to have them removed.It was extremely painful.Since the surgery I have had no recurrences.I am getting married in about a year,my fiance knows about the HPV.We are both wondering about problems with pregnancy.I have not been able to find out much about it.Only that the HPV can come back during the pregnancy and in very rare cases the baby could hav to have surgery because the warts can grow in their throat.Any one who has had HPV and gave birth after....please help!

My wife had 2 kids following treatment for warts including laser surgery. Our doctor said that there shouldn't be a problem since she had no active warts. So far the kids are fine at 11 & 8 yrs.

i was detected with warts in 2004 and just had my baby in april of 2005, my doctor told me that when a woman has warts, and pregnant, there is no way the baby can be born with them. there is a slight risk, but that's only if when the baby is coming out vaginally, the baby opens their mouth BEFORE coming out completely, (this is while having visible warts), then theres a slight risk. otherwise, it's not possible for baby to be born with the virus. hope this helps
