Post Aldara & Flulike Symptoms

Hello -

I am wondering if anyone else out there has had swollen glands while using Aldara cream? For the first 12 weeks it seemed to have come and gone typically 24 hours after I applied it, and by the 2nd night there were no symptoms or swelling.

Recently however, my armpit glands (which have never swelled before in my entire life until I went on this stuff) have been itching and slightly swelling on a constant basis. I started applying more cream recently, and I know Aldara is an IMMUNE RESPONSE MODIFIER and can cause flulike symptoms but I have no other flulike symptoms than these right now.

Last week the gland on the right side of my pelvis was painful and swollen for a couple days. Before that in my neck on the right side for a day or two. It always seems to come and go but the armpits seem to be staying now.

This is all new to me since I went on Aldara, but im concerned that its something else. I want to find out by stopping the treatment, but it would mean stopping the treatment a month early, and I've made it this far and don't want to quit.

At the same time I don't want to keep wondering if I have something serious for the next month either.

Please don't advise me to go to the doctor, they know less than I do about this stuff. I've been to several. With the advent of the internet, doctors are seeming more and more clueless to me.

Can aldara cause swelling of glands as one of the flu-like symptoms? Has anyone else experienced this in a mild form while using it?

Thanks.

Hey AldaraGuy:

I've been using Aldara for about two months now. I havent had any problems with my glands swelling. The only problem Ive had was severe skin irritation. I quit for a week until it cleard up then I went back on it. So far no adverse reactions. I wish this stuff would work though I sick of looking at those two little bumps. I would suggest you call 3M they might be able to answer your questions.

Good Luck!!!

Try Tea Tree Oil on Warts (depending where they are of course).

Or, make sure you only take the Aldara every 2nd day....
