Post do i need insurance to be tested/treated for hpv?

hey guys... im a little worried that i may have hpv and i would like to get tested for it but i am worried about having to file an insurance claim. i am still under my parents insurance and last year i went to the OBGYN and was tested for an array of STDs including HIV and came back clear... but i never told my mom that i had been tested. she just found out from teh insurance records and talked to me about it. i really would like to keep this as something personal. of course i would tell guys i date and everything if i do have it... but i don't want to disappoint my mom. also, is treatment for hpv expensive? thanks a lot!

Maybe you could locate a Planned Parenthood clinic or free health clinic in your area. Then, there is no need for money, Ok, so maybe a few bucks but generally those agencies charge little to nothing for such tests.

Just to let you know, they don't "test" specifically for HPV because there is no simple test to detect it. You can treat it if symptoms appear. Typically, the symptoms would be warts or an abnormal PAP Smear. Treatment can vary widely depending your body's reaction to the virus.
