Question Question on how to treat your nails....

I have a fungus type thing growing on my toenails.. and wondering if anyone out there knew a cure for it?

Also, My nails are very fragile.. they chip and peel easily.. any tips on how to make them stronger?

I use clear strengthening nail polish.. but you are supposed to put it on everyday. It seems to be working, but I don't have the time to put it on everyday.

Any help is much appreciated!

Thx ~Twist

Chipping, peeling nails are normally very dry; they lack the proper amounts of oils and moisture that is transmitted from the nail bed up through the layers of nail plate.

/Dry nails will benefit from applications of jojoba oil mixed at equal proportions with vitamin E. You can also add sweet almond oil, passion flower oil, rice bran oil or safflower oil to the mixture if you prefer an oil with a scent.

I rarely suggest nail strengtheners to my clients, as nail strengtheners usually contain high quantities of formaldehyde with act upon the nail to give the apearance of strength (hardness), when in actuality, the formaldehyde will dry out the nail. If your nails are dry, split and peeling, they will benefit more quickly from applications of the oil mixture.
