Post Tattoo?

Hi all
I just have a quick question about my wife getting a tattoo...if any woman in here can tell me what are the pros and cons of getting one done, I'm really against it, but it seems that nothing that I tell her will convince her of not getting one done...any help?

I have one on my back and I am glad I got it there because I don't have to look at it. I even forget I have it. I don't regret getting it but I love the fact that I can hide it and no one has to see it unless I want them to. Now that I am older, I don't think it looks nice to be all dressed up and then have a tattoo showing. Plus I like being able to hide it from my kids. I don't see anything wrong with getting one, but make sure your wife really thinks hard about where she puts it (does she want it to show when she is wearing a nice dress or at work) and really check out the place where she gets it. Ask to see pictures of previous work and ask about safety guidelines. oh yeh, if she wants one in a private place, she may want to consider that many places are just one big room (does she really want to drop her pants for strangers?)

Why not suggest for her to get one of those "realistic" looking temporary ones that last like a week? She can try that for a few times to see how she likes it before going permanent. The other posts have very good points also that your wife should seriously consider. Also, my cousin had tattoos done when she was a teenager. Now that she is in her 40's, she wants to get rid of them desperately. Not everyone that gets a tattoo regrets it, but some do. So its not something someone should get without serious thought.

Thanks for all your replies, she has been doing some research on it, but I just feel like some of you already said that when she gets older it wont look so nice on old wrinkle skin, tattoos in the past were a symbol of being in a gang or jail or military guys, now its a fashion trend and alot more people are getting them, even teens. I just wish she had gotten interested in something else like gardening...haha
Thx
