Post Nails

Hey guys!

I was very sick last year and on alot of medication. It basically ruined my nails. They're always spliiting and I have to try cover them up with nailpolish. No matter how much I file them etc they still peel. The doctor said they should be good in 6 months, but does anybody know of any home treatments or stuff you can buy that will help splits? I'm not desperate to fix them or anything, cos theyre only nails but any suggestions would be lovely. Fake nails are not me because I can't stand long nails.

Thanks!

I tried everything and the only thing that even seems to kind of work is Sally Hansen Maximum Growth. Also, a good multivitamin will help. You will notice the effects of the multivitamin in about a month as your nails grow out.

I agree. A multivitamin would help, but if you can buy gelatin vitamins this will really cause them to grow. I have a hard time getting mine to grow, and I can't seem to keep fingernail polish on them, so I bought "Hands Nails & Cuticles Creme" by Sally Hansen. It has Vitamins A,E,C, and grape seed oil and chamomile. This has really helped my nails to look better and grow faster.

Getting acrylic nails doesn't mean they have to be long...you can get fake nails put on as short or long as you want them to be!

I swear by Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails with Nylon - it's served me very well! My nails are very strong and long, and I've even had acrylics before (which weakened my nails for a long time)...Sally Hansen is good stuff!

Hi,
I had the same problem with my nails and I tried everything,I mean everything including acrylic and gel nails.
Then I found Nail Tek 11! It is wonderful! My nails are long and stong. They don't chip, peel or split. I have even bumped a nail and it didn't break! Where as before that bump would have been the end of a nail.
Anyway I bought Nail Tek II at salon (Beauty Bar) in the mall. I have also seen it in a nail salon where they do the acrylics and gels.
There is Nail Tek I, II and III. II is for what you are describing about your nails. It cost anywhere from $10 to $14.
Good Luck
Deb
