nail problem!

I haft to get my nails done for prom and I have a problem with that I pick the skin around my nails it it gets so bad that they bleed and they hurt! I want to get my nails done for prom but they said that its hard to do someones nail when someone picks around there nails prom is May 16th. I need someones suggestions to help me stop pleeease. thanks!

They lie!!!
I did the same thing & they did nails for me when I got married.
Infact, Since the arcylics are high on the surface of your finger, it made it hard for me to pick & they healed & looked awesome. By the time the nails came off, I didn't pick anymore.
Don't let them tell you that.
It might sting a little from the solution, but try to clip them down so their not hanging and use a vitamin E at night on your fingers to soften & heal.
I heard that you want to get your nails done 2 weeks before an event, so if you have time, try to work on those hangnails.
Good luck & shop around for a different nail salon.

Go to a Sally Beauty Supply and purchase a bottle of Botanical Oil in the Nail Department, or buy some Solar Oil from Ulta Cosmetic Outlet. Both oils contain essential conditioning and moisturizing oils along with the healing properties of Vitamin E. Apply 4 - 5 times a day and massage into the skin and nails. Instead of picking at the loose skin, go get a manicure. The technician can easily and safely trim off the 'hanging' bits of skin without 'digging into' the live flesh and making you bleed.

I wouildn't advise having nails applied if the skin is open and sore. The reason is because the liquids used to create artificial nails (whether gels, wraps or acrylics) are potential sensitizers. If any of these liquids get onto the open skin, the skin will absorb them, and you might experience an immediate allergic reaction or a burning sensation that could cause other problems.

It's not too late to get your skin into better condition so your nails and hands look good for Prom. Some nail technicians perform a service they call :Prom Nails". They do this by applying just a tip to the natural nail, lightly blend it into the naturalnail and cover with polish. This 'temporary' service will last a few days if you are careful and do not have them very long. The best length for temporary nails is about 1/8th of an inch past the fingertip.
