Cuticle remover was not designed to remove live tissue - only the dead portion of translucent skin that grows forward on the nail plate from underneath the portion of skin that touches the nail plate close to the knuckle.

If your nails and surrounding skin are dry, cracked and peeling, it is because they are dry. Most people believe that applying lotion will help to rehydrate the skin, but all it does is to act as a skin lubricant as it does not contain the type of product that will allow it to be absorbed INTO the skin.

Go to a Sally Beauty Supply and purchase a bottle of Botanical OIl, or you can purchase Solar Oil from your local salon or through an Ulta Outlet nationwide. Both oils contain Jojoba and Vitamin E along with other conditioning and moisturizing oils. Jojoba oil has the tiniest molecular structure and can penetrate the surface layer of the skin, iopen up the pores and draw the conditioning, moisturizing and healing oils in after it.

For best results, apply to the nails and massage into the nails and surrounding skin at LEAST twice daily. More often if you have your hands in water a lot or use household cleaning solutios without wearing gloves. All of these things will wick the natural oils and moisture from your skin, leaving it dry, cracked, peeling and sometimes, bleeding.
