Gee the board has been a little slow lately...thought maybe we could share a few bits and pieces of ourselves...Like what drug or condition brought you to this board? Are you the addict or someone you care about? What are you doing to help yourself to a better life? Where do you live? How old are you? schooling? job? ...etc....Maybe just a get to know you kinda thing...
Personally I am a 53 year old female living in CA.
College educated and last job was an activity director in a large retirement community...This past year I have turned into a professional AlAnon member (lol) trying to figure out how my husband became a crack addict.

Hi there. My name is Jeni, and Iam 28 years old. My boyfriend is a heroin addict, and he is now on methadone to help with his addiction. Iam pretty new to all of this-the only things I did that you could consider illegal were pot and acid. Iam over all of that now, or so I thought, cuz now Iam involved in the recovery of my boyfriend. It's definitely a tough way to go, but iam in it all the way!

Good idea!! My name is Lee, I'm a 52yr old female, widow, and a recovering Alcoholic/addict. I've been clean/sober since 7-29-93 thru the grace of God and AA. I'm also a chronic pain patient, so I have to be extremely careful about medications and I work very closely with my doctor about this.

By profession, I'm an optician, but had to "retire" in '95 due to post-surgical problems. I'm now on disability unfortunately.

Hi My Name is Sylvia, Have been clean since March 19, 2001. I am a prescription drug addict. Was using fioricet w/codiene for tension headache. Thank god someone (DEA) recued me.
