Unhappy Girl with Sideburns?

Help! I'm a college student and don't have that much money, and I have sideburns!!! I've always noticed them a lot, but figured that since no one ever said anything then they were fine and not that noticeable. One day last week however my mom looked at me and gasped and said "did you know that you had sideburns?" I was so embarassed because now that my mom has said something I'm so conscious of them. They are really bad. I have really pale skin and dark curly thick hair with sideburns. I can't wear my hear down because its just a mess when I wear it down. I wear it up everyday. I was wondering if there is anything I can do? As I said I'm in school with no money so I need a fairly inexpensive solution. I thought of shaving but then I'd have to do that too often. I also thought of waxing but then there would be little hairs growing in. Does anyone have any good suggestions? Thanks so much!

I would be more concerned as to why you have sideburns. You might have a hormonal imbalance, and if you treat that it would take care of the sideburns.

Full time college students usually have health care coverage so maybe you could go to your schools doctors.

I have dark hair myself, I think its the Italian in me :/ the color bugged me so much that I remove it in all areas, and I just stared doing my "sideburns" a month ago, im glad I did. Im using a wax product called "Nads" that you used cold so the heat does not hurt the skin on your face. Press down, bite your lip, and rip! Mine did not hurt to bad, just make sure not to go too high, just get the dark hairs on the sides of your face. Let the hairs grow back till you notice, then wax again. I do this on the side of my face every 3-4 weeks (the hair is thin in that area *usually* so it not like looking at unshaved legs ^_^)
for upper lip I use wax or nair and I shave my arms and legs.
