Question How can I keep curls in my hair without getting a perm?

I have very long, straight, fine and limp hair. I'd like to go for a change every once in a while. I try over and over to roll my hair. I take strands and spray them with hairspray and then roll them. I leave them in for 30 minutes (until they are cool.) Then I take them down and I spray them, within 5-10 minutes, the curls are pretty much gone. I even do this right after I get out of the shower and dry my hair. AHHH!!! It's sooo frustrating! Can anyone help? Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Cool

Have you tried using a sculpting lotion or a molding mudd, any good hair salon will have a variety of these products and might possibly have some answers for your dilemma. You might get results from overnight pincurls or rollers? If this doesn't work why not try a stylish cut for straight hair?I have naturally curly hair and I would love to try a shag or feathered,etc.........unfortunately,that 's not in the cards for me.Good luck!

Cool

I have long straight hair (almost to my waist). What works best for me is to wash my hair at night and dry it about 3/4 of the way dry. Then I put a small amount of curling gel in my hair. I then roll it with those wrap, snap and go rollers and sleep in them. The curls are much prettier than sponge roller curls and the rollers are comfortable to sleep in. When you take it down in the morning don't brush your hair use a pick or a really wide tooth comb.
Good luck!

Have you tried using a setting lotion instead of the hairspray? I find that they keep the curls real good. Plus the hairspray-would leave the hair to hard and stiff. Maybe you can also dry your hair under a hood dryer--*unless you are pressed for time. Whenever I use rollers I leave it until its competely dry under a hooded dryer or else the curl is gonna droop.
