in need of serious help !!! hair problem... and desperate...
last week i made the mistake of trying to color my bleached blonde hair to a dark blonde/light brown... used an ash color(which now i know is completely WRONG) and it turned my purple... i only left the stuff on for like 3 min, cause i saw it was turning a color it shouldn't have been.... so, i decided to use the normal stuff i use to bleach it back... turned my hair a very VERY light blonde, with ashy tones.... i went to my hairdresser... she put a filler on... and then dyed it a light brown... it looked REALLY good when i left the salon... and she told me it would fade, and some would go down the drain... but, not to panic and come back in "like 3 weeks"... well, its only been a week, and i already have fading, and some of the grey ashy tones are leaking thru.... i'm desperate!!!! i'm calling her tomorrow to see if she'll do it again.... but, what else can i do??? i've been only washing every other day, and conditioning it as well.... i feel like a freak... my hair looks awful... on top of this i had my hair cut the week before i did this... so there isn't even an option of chopping most of it off....
HELP!!!

If your hair is not too damaged, I would use a color remover if you are unhappy with the color it is now. After the color remover, I would use something with a neutral base, because you can always tone it afterwards to get the color your looking for. What is your natural level? It all depends on what your natural color is to begin with, as to what would work best for you.

i just got around to reading this now.... anyway, hopefully you'll reply... i went to a new stylist... she did a color remover... (i looked very yellow/orange when she was done) and then she dyed me a dark blonde.... it looked really nice when i walked out of the salon... and i didn't notice any going down the drain... anyway, she then highlighted a week later... and they were just way too light!! at the same time my base color was dulling.... so, now i'm stuck with hair that just "doesn't look right"... it's like a dark blonde with a slight SLIGHT cast of greenish to it... soooo, my question is... can i tone using a medium neutral and golden blonde mix?? i ultimately want a neutral color but with SOME few golden tones to it... if that's possible... so, i was going to use a semi in med.neutral blonde and mix with a med golden blonde not sure how much to how much yet, but probably 3/4 neut. to 1/4 golden... whatcha think???
it's not terribly ugly.. my hair that is.. it is MUCH better than before i had the color remover done... but, i need something normal for me...
btw, my natural color is a light brown...

Yes, you can use a medium neutral and a golden mixed together. I would suggest that since you are wanting to DEPOSIT color, that you purchase a 10 Volume Peroxide rather than the normal 20 Volume. 10 Volume will open the hair shaft and deposit color. 20 volume will lift for the first 15-20 minutes, then deposit for the next 15 minutes. This is one reason that most color correction services go wrong by fading too fast.

thanks for the advice! well, i did some experimenting last night... and strand tested everything i was trying to do.... anyway, after i used the gold toner... i still didn't like it... it didn't look any better or worse.... soooo, all i could think of is that my hair has no red in it..... (and it did have a teensy tinge of green to it)... so, i used a color deposit in red.... first stranded it cause i thought it might turn orange... which it did... so, i mixed it with normal conditioner.... only left it on for a minute... and it did work much better.... i'm pleased with the results... but, not completely.... sooooooo.... what i WANT to do is tone with a red semi... but, i'm a little afraid to.... my hair definitely needs red in it... what do ya think?
