I used to experience the same "comatose" symptoms a few years ago. I would wake up startled and be unable to move, open my eyes, or even scream for help, and my body would be VERY cold.
Since then, I got more involved in physical fitness and a healthy diet and the symptoms disappeared. In my own case I think it had more to do with the eating of certain foods at a late hour.
Why not give the following a try and see if it helps:
- do not eat any large meals after approximately 7:00pm
- if you become hungry after that time, simply have a piece of fruit.
- go to sleep a little bit earlier and clear your mind before dozing off.
Those are little things that I started doing which worked for me.
