Unhappy Sleep walking and talking

Can anyone give me information or tips to lessen sleep walking and talking in your sleep. I can sleep 8 hours or more and wake up still very tired. My roomate told me I talk constantly through out the night and walk around (and never remember this either). I constantly go into her room and talk to her and she just tells me to go back to bed and I do. She is a light sleeper and can hear me talkin in my room even with the door shut. I never knew I did this, this much till I moved out of my fathers house. (I used to wake up and the front door be open etc.) I once walked 2 blocks in my underware and woke up at a friends door step when I heard foot steps ( I must of rang the door bell) so then I ran all the way home. I guess at home everyone was not light sleepers and didnt notice. I really believe all this sleep walking and talking is not letting me get into the deep sleep that I need. I hope i do not sound totally stupid, but I dont know what else to think.

sincerely

There's more to this problem than what can worked out with home remedies. You need a sleep study to see what is going on. There are some good medications that will help you. Have your family doctor refer you to a sleep specialist. In the mean time, you could use a restraining strap on you wrist that will wake you if you try to sleep walk.

Otherwise, stay away from any of the many gimmick devices and medications that make promises of helping you. Your problem is severe enough that you need profesional help.

Thank you for the advice. I had already had an appt to see my physician for a check up on my hand and I asked him a bout the sleep problem. He gave me a mediacation to help me sleep and we will see how it works. He advised against going to a sleep specialist. Right now I am in a intence program in college and he said that probably has a lot to do with it getting worst. Thank you again I will let you know how it goes.
