Thumbs up Two weeks with Cpap

I have been using my new Cpap Machine for two weeks now and I feel years younger. I wake up before the alarm instead of playing the game of how many times can you hit the snooze. I have lost 4 pounds. I haven't had a nap since (used to be every day). I can stay up late and not sleep the whole next day. I have more energy, I even feel prettier. I am in love with this machine. No more scheduling days off from work just to sleep. I wish everyone who had this problem could know the benefits of this machine.

Do you use the mask or the device for the nose?

I am using the profile lite mask with the gel forehead spacer and the gel mask cushion. I went back for a second fitting to get a wider mask because I have problems keeping my nasal passages open even during the day time. So the other mask was pressing on my nasal passages and collapsing them. This new one is wide enough that it doesn't press on them at all. Which one do you use and what do you think of it?

Question

How many days did it take before you felt a difference? Is your sleep more restful, I wake up to go the bathroom sometimes 5 or 6 times a night will this get better? It has been an interesting two nights. My little dog does not know what to think of it all.

Moose,
I started with the type of mask that lets you adjust by clicking the nose piece the angle of the forehead piece. (forgot the name of it)I was only able to wear it 1/2 the night. But the naps stopped after the second night. Woke up slightly sick to my stomach every morning (thought I was swallowing air)also slight headache each morning right where the forehead piece sits. After 7 days of this I went to make a switch. (The naps had stopped, I started waking up before the alarm and the weight loss all started after 2-3 days. But the nausea & headaches made me not want to wear it all night.)My rep had a little hissy fit when I kept insisting on getting one that she thought was too big for me but, being nauseated and headachy I was *****y enough to push my own desires. Result: Fits fine, no noise,no air leaking out,no pressure on my forehead, and the nausea turned out to be from not expelling the whatever you breathe out. The mask I have now has two little escape valves that I can open. After 3 days on the new mask, everything fell into place. I am using just a disposable humidifier. Works great. The gel makes it more comfortable, and the fit makes it seem like it isn't on. In fact I sometimes pull it away from my face to see if air is on. So I guess my answer is 10 days to totally appreciate it. Did that answer your question?
