Ever since I can remember my body functions the same on no sleep (up to 72 hours), a little sleep (1-2 hours), normal for me sleep (3-5 hours) and a lot of sleep (up to 10 hours). To top it all off, I am an extremely light sleeper no matter the length of sleep. I am so tired of this mainly because my husband snores (not really at all loud) and for the past six months I have slept on the couch so I don't hear him. People have always joked that I have bionic hearing, but oddly enough it is very similar. I can hear three conversations at once in a crowd, hear people whispering on opposite ends of the house, and hear things way off in the distance. I have been accused of hearing things on numerous occasions because the person I am with never hears all the things I do. When I physically take the time to show someone at a later date where the noise was coming from they are freaked out. I want so desperately to sleep in the same bed as my husband (we've only been married 1 1/2 years). I too have been on Ambien and it worked, but it caused me to forget the next day anything I had done or said the night before. I don't like that side effect at all. Do I have any options or should I just never count on things being different for me in the sleep category?
