Wendy, boy do I understand your dilemma! I, too, have struggled with insomnia (for nearly six years now). My typical bed time was anywhere from 2:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. Then I had to be up to take one child to school at 8:20, and the other at 11:20. For about six months now, my standard routine is to come home after dropping off #1, only to get breakfast for #2 and then go back to bed until it's time to take her to school. It's terribly frustrating and even embarassing. I feel like a horrible Mom most of the time. The guilt, alone, can make you crazy! Anyway, my doctor decided to put me on Celexa about 12 days ago. Now, no matter what time of day or night I take it, I'm ready to go to bed by 8:00 p.m.! LOL! Seriously, I have only been to bed past midnight one or two times since starting on the Celexa. The trouble is... I still feel like sleeping all morning long. So even though I'm getting an additional 2-4 hours of sleep, I'm still wiped out. I guess this doesn't help you with your situation, but I wanted you to know that you have another woman out there who understands what you're going through. I will remember to pray for you to get some sleep. (P.S. I was diagnosed with post-partum, which is where the insomnia started. Have you had your hormones checked out? When did your insomnia start?)
