Have you tried wearing socks to bed? I read that it makes you go to sleep faster because in the natural falling-asleep process, your body draws heat away from the hands and feet as a signal to the brain to slow down. I don't recommend taking any sleeping pills. My mum takes them once a month or less, and after she takes one (dopamine), she sleeps but then she's drowsy for the whole day and can't get out of bed.
As for the stresses in your life, have you taken a vacation recently? Just a short trip might help, if you're working and worrying constantly. Maybe try a spa or try a new sport you've never played before?
