Angry Smoking is killing my husband and depressing me.

My husband has been a heavy smoker for about 25 years. In the past year he had been coughing until he is blue in the face and wheezing and spitting up blood. He is in total denial about this. He says he wishes he never told me about the coughing up blood because I am going to drive him nuts about it. He is 11 years older than me and I have actually resorted to if you can't beat them join them and started smoking again myself. Knowing full well what is is doing to me. I have made my husband numerous doctor appointments but he always has a reason why he cannot go. I am so depressed thinking about him dying before me and I am also depressed whenever I smoke a cigarette. I am a mess!! Someone please give me some tips on what I can do!! Sincerely Dianne Leonard Angeljustis@aol.com

Dianne, I can't believe you started smoking again . . . I'm sorry. I know it must be hard seeing your husband that way. That would scare me to death.

Is he willing to try to quit? Have you tried the Wellbutrim? You will have to see a doctor. Wellbutrim was actually given to people for depression so it may help you out in more than one area. He really sounds like he needs to go to the doctor. I would make him an appt. and make him go. That's what I have to do with my husband. I hate going to the doctor's office more than he does, but it's not worth dying over . . .

Good luck to you both and keep us posted.

Lucky
