Question Who here takes Paxil?

Hey all --

I finally admitted to having moderate generalized anxiety... and my doctor.. who RARELY gives out medication if not needed, agreed, and gave me a prescription for Paxil.

I'm going to start it soon..

Who here has used it with success?
Any side effects?

I can't wait to start feeling myself again..

I'm glad i have people to talk to about it here.

Hi Drew,

I've just finished a year of Paxil and therapy for my GAD, Social anxiety and depression. I'm glad to report that the Paxil helped me greatly - I've now been off of it for a couple of months and my Gad/SA is better than it's ever been.

The first few weeks on Paxil were tough for me with nausea and tiredness but once over that the side effects were manageable. Paxil also caused some sexual problems for a copuple of months but frankly I felt so depressed I wasn't that worried!

Overall Paxil was a great help to me in conjunction with counselling / therapy.

If I can help support you in any way just let me know.

Kind thoughts,

Zafu

I will say to you though..please remember to take your doseage regularly – if I miss a couple of days I feel very dizzy. Also alcohol – for me it’s a big no no. I have been naughty and have had the odd binge…but I suffer for it quite badly as it stops the paxil from working.

Other than that – I had no real side effects, I felt a little nausea and a bit tired, but that’s nothing really.
I wish you all the luck in the world…and a much happier year to come. Well done
